Ae86 progress pics

Bit of a picture dump of the ae86.
The cardboard is the copied shape of ae82 guards which I bought to weld on.

So it's been a couple years since I've posted, I'm halfway through a toolmaking apprenticeship away from home which put an end to casting and such. Some other changes include:

Pajero got sold probably 12 months ago

I drove daily a Subaru Brumby for 12 months, then a Holden Statesman for another 12 and now a Toyota AE86

I haven't done any casting since I made that cam chain tensioner which I never finished

I've made various things using the machines at work instead of casting

Coming Long Weekend

This coming long weekend I'm planning on casting a manual adjusting cam chain tensioners for one of the XT's so keep an eye on the casting page. The plan is make a wooden pattern that is oversize to account for shrinkage and surface imperfections and file finish the casting to size. I have a C shape power drill mount for more drilling accuracy so I'll be mounting that to a bench somehow. Just planning for now!

Eventful Weekend

So this weekend I wanted to do something so I went out to the shed and started doing things I've been planning on doing for a while. First, I started working on my hydraulic press. Then, I spent the other three quarters of my weekend casting! New pages coming up.

Just finished the new page for the 87 XT. It's fairly late, but I wasn't planning on doing anything to it until the end of the year. Feel free to comment!

New bike!

Just bought an '87 XT250! Picking it up this weekend. Motor needs a rebuild and roadworthy gear is all missing but it's very exciting otherwise!
Keep an eye out for a new page towards the end of the year.
