This is my hydraulic press. It's roughly welding together and someones hacked at it with an oxy torch deeming it unusable.
My method of removing the jack was grinding back the welds and using the cold chisel to separate the welds.
Bit of grinding and hammering and here is the outcome. A frame waiting for another jack arrangement. The extension pieces and upper welds are rough but it'll only be used for pushing in bearings etc, nothing serious.
Here are the parts saved from the bottle jack and a new (but old) bottle jack to replace it.
So far not much has happened, but the work done so far has been under the guidance of a metalwork teacher who had a look and gave me a list of things to do. Plans are to mount table mounts so I can bolt it down and mount the new bottle jack.
